HIV Prevention and Reproductive Health Education Project

HIV Prevention and Reproductive Health Education in Schools and Community (RHE-HIV) Project is a new project being implemented by ICDP Ghana with support from UNESCO GHANA for the next 12 months to support t the Government in achieving the SDG4 through its Education Strategic Plan/ESP- (2018-2030) Basic Education Policy Objective (BE) 2.3: Improved learning environments, including health and sanitation, child protection, and guidance and counselling in primary schools.

The project will do this by;

• Empowering and equipping adolescents and young people with HIV prevention and SRHR information and build their capacity to participate effectively in advocacy on HIV and Sexual reproductive health policy making and implementation, through out of school and in school settings in Ga West and Akwapim South districts and feeding the evidence into the national-level discourse.

• Building capacities of teachers, Traditional Authorities and community members on RHE and HIV prevention in schools and communities.


Specific Project objectives

• To educate or sensitize learners on HIV prevention and reproductive health

• To improve the knowledge of community members on HIV and reproductive health

• To scale up support to reduce stigma and discrimination among young PLHIV in schools.
